Survey & Research Disclosure Notice

Understanding what this Website is and what it is not

Effective Date: June 2026Contact: hello@thebarista.school

This is the most important document on this Website. Please read it before completing any form or survey.

Applies to: All visitors to thebarista.school and associated domains

1. What This Website Is

thebarista.school is a pre-launch market research website. It was created to test whether there is genuine demand for barista training and coffee education services in India, particularly in Ahmedabad and Gujarat.

In startup and business development terminology, this is called a PMF (Product-Market Fit) validation exercise. We are asking real people whether they would use such a service, what they would pay, and what features matter to them, before building anything.

Think of this as a detailed survey dressed as a school website. The school website is real. The school itself is not yet real.

2. What This Website Is NOT

This Website is NOT a functioning educational institution. Reading this page, submitting a form, or expressing interest does not enrol you in any programme.

  • It is not an accredited or registered educational institution
  • It does not currently offer any courses, classes, or training programmes
  • It does not issue any certificates or qualifications
  • It does not have confirmed faculty, curriculum, or physical premises
  • It is not collecting any fees or payments
  • It does not guarantee employment, placement, or any career outcome

3. Why We Are Doing This

Building a barista school requires significant investment in equipment, premises, faculty, and curriculum. Before making that investment, we want to understand:

  • Whether there is genuine demand for barista training in Ahmedabad and Gujarat
  • What types of programmes people are most interested in (job placement, hobby courses, cafe owner training, international certifications)
  • What people are willing to pay for such training
  • Whether cafe operators and chains would hire graduates from a structured programme
  • Whether institutions like NGOs, corporate CSR departments, or government bodies would support or co-fund such training

Your responses directly inform whether this school gets built, what shape it takes, and who it serves first. This is a genuine research exercise, not a marketing campaign.

4. References to Third-Party Organisations

This Website mentions several organisations in the context of potential future collaborations or as industry reference points:

Potential Future Collaborations (NOT Yet Confirmed)

The following are mentioned as aspirational future partnerships only. None of these collaborations have been discussed, agreed, or formalised:

  • Coffee Board of India - a possible institutional affiliation for recognition and certification
  • SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) - a potential pathway to becoming an Authorised Training Centre
  • Skill India / NSDC / THSC - possible empanelment as a skill development training partner
  • Any NGO, CSR partner, or scholarship-funding body

Mentioning these organisations does not mean they have endorsed, verified, or approved this project. These are ideas for where the school might go if it is built. Nothing more.

Industry References (Informational Only)

References to cafe chains, coffee brands, roasters, and industry players (such as Starbucks, Blue Tokai, Third Wave Coffee, abCoffee, Kokoro, etc.) are:

  • For informational and market context purposes only
  • Not endorsements of or by those brands
  • Not confirmation that they have agreed to hire graduates or partner with this school
  • Based on publicly available information about those companies

5. Blog Content and Data Sources

The blog (thebarista.blog) publishes articles about the coffee industry, barista careers, cafe business, and related topics. All content is:

  • Researched from publicly available internet sources
  • Written for informational and educational purposes
  • Not to be taken as professional advice (legal, financial, career, or otherwise)
  • Subject to inaccuracies inherent in web-sourced data

Statistics, market data, and industry figures cited in blog posts are sourced from publicly available reports and may not be verified to primary source standards. Always cross-check important data independently.

6. What Happens to Your Survey Data

If you complete a survey or expression of interest form:

  • Your responses are used solely to understand demand and preferences
  • Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties
  • Individual responses are kept confidential - only aggregate patterns are studied
  • You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@thebarista.school
  • Completing a survey creates no obligation on your part, and no commitment on ours

7. If We Decide to Build the School

If the research indicates sufficient demand and we decide to proceed with building The Barista School:

  • We will contact people who expressed interest and gave consent to be notified
  • Actual programme details, fees, faculty, and institutional affiliations will be communicated at that stage
  • Any partnership with SCA, Coffee Board, Skill India, or other bodies will only be claimed once formally agreed
  • Enrolment, fees, and commitments will only be solicited through formal, verified channels

Until then, treat everything on this Website as a vision and a question, not a promise or a product.

8. Contact and Questions
